Jesus Sends Us Out

Matthew 28:18-20, “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”
It’s not uncommon for me to meet someone who has been or is deeply involved with church things. They go to services on Sunday, they serve, they might even be in a bible study or small group and they will say, “I feel like there is something missing … ”
Here is the reality most of the time: The mission is missing.
Jesus sends those who follow him out to invite others to enjoy the good news He has brought into the world. To invite others into the family of God.
If we do all the things, but skip the mission, then sooner or later we will feel as if something is missing. And yet God is so kind to continue to invite us into His mission because He knows that when we step into what God is doing in the world we will once again be surprised by His grace and delighted in His love.
Questions
→ Who is God calling you to invite into following in the way of Jesus?
→ When and how will you do this?
Prayer
“Father, I know that I can’t save anyone. Salvation is yours to give. But I know that you have invited me to participate in the mission of Christ by proclaiming the good news of the gospel. Would you give me boldness, opportunity, and soften the hearts of those who will hear so that they might experience your salvation?“
