United in Christ, Even When We Are Apart

The novelty wears off quickly doesn’t it? The uniqueness of worshiping at home on Sundays in your pajamas devolves into a “we will just catch up later” mentality. I know I have felt it too.
As we continue on this path that is uncertain, it is clear that digital worship will be a part of our future (though not the only part) for the foreseeable future, and I want to encourage you: Don’t grow weary in doing good. The author of Hebrews says in Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
Certainly, our way of “meeting together” has changed in these strange days, but it is not absent. Whether with your family, your roommates, or in distant solidarity with members of your Gospel Community or small group ... each Sunday is an opportunity for us to sit under the word of God together, for us to pray together, to be blessed and commissioned together.
So, let me encourage you: We are united in Christ, even when we are apart.
We meet together, across homes and households, distant but not divided.
So, whether you capture time to watch the sermon and pray, dance around the room in family worship, or make time to read the bible together and thank God for speaking ... don’t grow weary in doing good brothers and sisters. Attend to the presence of the Lord, for he is good.
