Our Hope for Help Your Neighbor Day
Katie Hembree
When you walk out your front door I figure you can count a dozen different houses on your street.
Now imagine what it would be like if every one of those houses was marked by the mercies of Christ. Imagine what it would feel like if the families in these homes were radically shaped by the cross and living lives of sacrifice and service. Imagine the kind of impact a dozen families could have on your street, your neighborhood and the city of Richardson. There’s no limit to what God would do!
Our hope for Help Your Neighbor Day is two-fold.
We want to use this event as a formational exercise. HYND is an annual event that is intended to shape and form us into people of sacrifice, generosity, and love. Deep down we want to embody Philippians 2:4, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
We want this event to open up doors for the gospel so that we can begin to see Mosaic’s vision realized. HYND has the potential to produce missional fruit in the form of building relationships with unbelievers or just demonstrating the love of God through our service and concern for our neighbors. However the Lord decides to move through Mosaic Church, we know that “neighborly love” will be one of the driving forces in seeing the gospel and its fruits cover every square inch of Richardson.
You are part of a bigger story. God can use the smallest act to accomplish his purposes. Let’s join together and start something bigger than just a one-day event.
