Thank You for Your Generosity

Family,
In times of trial and uncertainty, it is easy to adopt a scarcity mindset. To conclude that the safest thing to do is to keep, hoard, and hold. I feel that too.
And yet, the Christian has come to believe two central things:
God will never abandon his people and the whole world belongs to him.
Christ-centered generosity is one of the clearest paths to joy.
We long to be a people marked by radical generosity, and I have seen so many examples of your generosity in the midst of a pandemic. And it is the aroma of life to many in our church and in our city. Let me tell you how your generosity is blessing people. Because of your generous giving:
In the last month, we were able to give an additional $3,000 to church-plant partners who are in economically vulnerable areas.
In the last month, we were able to give over $6,000 away in external benevolence to families in Richardson who have been impacted by job loss due to COVID. This money went to helping alleviate housing costs.
In the last month, we were able to financially bless every member of Mosaic who has lost a job during this crisis.
We are currently working with Northrich Elementary to bless their teachers with a “Teacher Week” lunch.
In the past week, many of us received money we weren’t planning on. Some of us need that money for immediate costs, some of us need to use that money to set aside savings for a looming hours cutback or potential job loss, and some of us have just received a surplus that we might not need now or later.
I want you — particularly if you are in a situation where you have received a surplus — to consider how you might be able to use that to bless others. How might God have blessed you with more, so that you might bless others with less?
There are increasing opportunities for us as a church to be a blessing to the members of our church and to families in our community. Because of the increased opportunity, we have set up a designated fund for COVID-19 on our website. Every dollar given to that fund will go directly to blessing families in our church and in our community that have been impacted by the current crisis.
There is not a future where God abandons his people. When we live with generous hearts we grow in our trust that ultimately everything belongs to the Lord and He cares for His children.
Love you all.
